Ultraviolet Cure Sealant Systems - Sealing Electronics
Conformal Coatings
Hernon offers ultraviolet cured conformal coating
systems for printed circuit board and electronic assembly. Conformal
coatings are layers of polymer protection formed directly over
all components mounted to a printed circuit board. The coatings
are formed when the sealant is exposed to industrial ultraviolet
lamps. Applied as liquids, the sealants wrap and fully conform
to the surfaces of components.
The coatings provide a tough protective shield
against moisture, solvents, and harsh environments. Circuit integrity
is maintained by the coating.
Two ultraviolet systems are offered: Poly-Cure
744, and Ultraviolet Curable Coating (UCC) 739. Both systems
cure quickly exposure to high intensity medium pressure mercury
arc UV lamps in the range of 365 nm (long wavelength) and 100
milliwatt per square centimeter intensities.
